Skolars have re-signed Welsh international Matt Thomas for the 2012 season. Thomas has played 66 games at centre and second row for the club since joining in 2008. The 30 year old has scored 27 tries, but his opportunities were limited last season, following a foot injury early in the campaign. That also scuppered his chances of working his way back into the Welsh international side, for which he made his debut in 2009.
Skolars’ coach Joe Mbu is pleased that Thomas has put pen to paper. “Matt’s attitude to training and fitness is second to none. He worked hard off-field to stay fit when he was out of action for 4 months and he showed what he could do when he returned for the last two games of 2011.”
