Skolars Past And Present On International Duty

17th October 2011

Whilst London awaits the return of international rugby league to Wembley with the 4 National Double Header next month, several Skolars past and present have been in international action.

Dave Arnot was in the Scotland starting line up in their impressive 26-6 victory over Ireland in the first game in this year’s European Championship.

Further afield, former Skolar Mark Cantoni scored a try for the USA in their 40-4 win over South Africa. This win came in the Qualifiers for the 2013 World Cup. Both those sides will be taking on a Jamaican side including former Skolars Jy-Mel Coleman and Joe Brown, as well as Lamont Bryan, who played 8 games for the club this season, whilst on loan from Harlequins RL. Skolars will be taking an additional interest in events across the Atlantic following their tie up with the Jamaican Hurricanes.

Elsewhere, Lebanon started their World Cup campaign with a 96-4 victory over Serbia. The 2008 tournament saw the Cedars play their home game against Russia at Skolars’ New River Stadium.

Earlier this month, two former Skolars went head to head with Nigel Kitching’s Denmark triumphing 28-8 over Warren Heilig’s Norway side.

Over the next few weeks, the Pacific Cup takes place. Representing Fiji will be another former Skolar, Puna Rasaubale.
