With Skolars not playing Keighley until Friday it was left to the remaining eight Championship 1 teams to play their next round of fixtures and, in the case of South Wales Scorpions their last fixture of the season.
Workington went to Doncaster and cruised to a 6-37 victory, which puts them into 2nd place in the table.
Rochdale, as expected, ran out winners against Gateshead Thunder with a score of 62-18.
Champions Swinton could be forgiven for nursing a bit of a hangover as they went down 42-16 at Whitehavan.
The most significant result, from Skolars point of view, was at Oldham where South Wales Scorpions lost 48-34. With the Scorpions having now completed their full league program it means that if Skolars are able to take a two points or more from Keighley on Friday they will leapfrog Scorpions into 8th place.
