Skolars fell to an in form Workington side and saw their chance of a play-off spot now depend on winning all their remaining games.
Skolars had few chances in attack in the first half and saw the Cumbrians dominate.Mike Whitehead set up Elliott Miller for their first, before going over himself four minutes later. Skolars had to defend for long periods, but couldn’t stop Jarrad Stock racing over from the base of the scrum.
Skolars had a couple of chances late on, with Jaroslaw Obuchowski going close and Ade Adebisi being bundled into touch, but Aaron Low put the home side further ahead and Dave Armistead’s drop goal after the hooter saw Skolars go in 25-0 down. Scott Kaighan and John Patrick extended Workington’s lead after the break.
Austen Aggrey finally opened up the scoring, taking the ball at pace with his first touch of the ball after returning from a spell on the bench. Dylan Skee converted and added a try of his own three minutes later, scooting over from dummy half.
Kaighan added his second for Town before James Anthony scored for Skolars in the right corner.
