Following the postponement of the Touch Tournament last Thursday, due to weather conditions, the tournament resumes tonight, Thursday the 23rd June.
The Skolars Summer Touch competition got underway on the 9th June and a great turnout ensured a good time was had by all! At the end of the evening’s play the participants retired to the Lord Nelson Pub in Wood Green, who were kind enough to sponsor the player of the evening by donating a pitcher of beer.
The 8 week competition will run every Thursday until the culmination at the finals day at the London Skolars v Swinton Lions Co-operative Championship 1 game on Saturday 30th July. As well as the honour of being named Skolars Touch Champions, the winning team will receive a FREE entry to play at the prestigious annual City Touch competition at the Honourable Artillery Company in the heart of the City of London on Friday 5th August.
The league is open to players and teams of all ages, abilities and fitness levels and is the competition is played in a friendly, fun, social atmosphere with mixed teams being encouraged. Each team entry will be allowed to enter 12 players per week, with 7 players per team allowed on the field at any one time.
Games will run from 7pm through to 9pm, each game lasts 40 minutes, played in two 20 minute halves. With each team getting one game per week.
When entering the London Skolars Touch League, all registered players will be entitled to ticket offers and merchandise discounts from the club.
