Following his release by Leigh Centurions earlier this week, London Skolars have signed Mike Worrincy. The second row forward has played 83 games at Super League level for London Broncos and Bradford Bulls and Skolars’ head coach Joe Mbu is delighted to have secured the signature of the 26 year old.
“Mike is exactly the type of player we were looking fo. He brings considerable experience to the squad and I’m really pleased that he is returning to the capital. It also shows our progress and our future ambitions to be able to attract a player with that level of Super League experience.”
Born in Leeds, he came through the ranks with Greenwich Admirals juniors, alongside Skolars’ captain Dave Williams, playing for the BARLA Great Britain Under on their tour to Australia in 2004.
He signed for Broncos and scored 11 tries before joining Bradford in 2008. Last year saw him go down under for a spell with NRL club Penrith Panthers, before signing for Leigh at the start of the season.
