The London Skolars have implemented a player pathway to ensure we are represented by people from the local community. We feel it is important for the club to have people who take pride in representing their town or borough and this bodes well for a successful first team. The objectives of this pathway are as follows:

- Encourage Players Through a Tangible Pathway
- Form Partnerships with Outside Organisations
- Formalise Development & Performance Plans
- Create a Coaching Pathway at Different Levels of the Game
- Take Responsibility for Player Development
Our Junior program plays a pivotal part in attempting to make this vision a reality.
London Skolars Juniors are one of the top performing Junior Sections in London and the South East. We are very proud of our history and heritage. Our squads consistently reach the end of season play-offs (London Junior League). We also have a great track record of individual success; many of our players have been selected for the London Junior Origin Series, which is the pinnacle of age-grade Rugby League in London.
Recent highlights include:
- U12’s winning the London Junior League Grand Final (2021)
- U20′ reaching the Grand Final of the London Men’s League (2019). The squad went the entirety of the regular season un-beaten.
- U16 Squad winning their London League (2018)
- 2015 – U15’s winning the London Junior League, and our U17’s beat East Leeds RLC in front of a big crowd at ‘Friday Night Lights’. 2015 also saw all 3 of our teams reached the play-offs for the first time in the club’s history.
- Competing in the first registered U14s girls fixture in London (versus Elmbridge)
Junior Rugby begins at U12’s’ and continues as players move through to the U14’s and eventually into the U16’s squad. Graduates of the U16′ have the chance to play for our open-age ‘A’ side.
All our Junior Teams are an important part of the Player Pathway that forms one of the Junior club’s key objectives. Our Coaches strive to develop players who can make the step from age-grade to professional Rugby League.
Notable successes of the Junior system here at London Skolars include – Alex Deery, Christian Gale, Dion Chapman, Smokie Junior, Aaron Small, Michael and Judd Greenhalgh, Seb Kolasa, Illias Macani and our Head Coach Joe Mbu.
The season begins in early March, when our Junior Skolars compete against other London teams in a regional league format. The season culminates in a play-off type competition against teams from across the whole of London, resulting in a Grand Final Day played in late July.
Training for U12 – U18s begins on: Saturday March 2023.
The majority of our Junior Teams will continue to train on Saturday mornings (9:30-11:00)
Training will take place on the Perth Road grass pitches (opposite the White Hart Lane Community Sports Centre, N22 5QW). The location, however, is dependent on each coach and age group. Please contact the club to register your interest.
