London Skolars are delighted to announce the signing of Richard Wilkinson on a year-long deal. The former York City Knights and Doncaster full back joins the club ahead of what promises to be an exciting 2019 Betfred League 1 season.

Jermaine Coleman, London Skolars Head Coach, commented:

“Richard is an experienced player and we are really happy to have him in our ranks. We’ve been searching for someone to play at full back to act as a link in the team and Richard has the skill and ability to do that. I think he’s going to be the missing link we’ve been looking for in our attack for the past season or two.”

“We are very happy to welcome a player of Richard’s calibre and experience to the club. He is the sort of player we have been looking for to strengthen our push and aims to rise up the leagues. the club is really amassing a great squad for the 2019 season and beyond. The prospect of playing in the country’s capital was too good an opportunity to pass up for Wilkinson, who is excited to become part of a tight knit group at New River Stadium. The 25-year-old is now looking forward to contributing to a successful campaign. He said:

“I came to London because it’s a big opportunity in a big city with a club who, over the years, have been getting better and better on and off the field. The coach has got a really good culture going at the club and I’m really looking forward to working with all the boys and all the coaching staff to bring success to the Skolars.”
