Skolars resign rampaging Forward Lamont Bryan

29th May 2015

London Skolars are ecstatic to announce the resigning of the big, barraging utility forward Lamont Bryan for the rest of this season.

Lamont, aged 27, has accumulated quite an impressive rugby league CV during his time in the game, he originated at the London Bronco’s (then known as Harlequins RL) where he caught the eye with his typically dynamic performances, primarily as an outside back. These performances were deemed explosive enough to earn him a full time contract with the club. The next step in his meteoric rise, saw him make his professional debut for the club against Leeds in 2008, as his career continued with the London Broncos he went on to make another 32 appearances, although during this time he transitioned into the pack. Whilst with the club, he was also selected to represent a country of his heritage, Jamaica in their unfortunately unsuccessful attempts to qualify for the 2013 rugby league World Cup.

Upon leaving the London Bronco’s in 2012, Lamont then went on to sign for high flying championship side Featherstone Rovers for the 2013 season, known for his strong work ethic and explosive fend, Bryan soon became a fans favourite of the Yorkshire club, leading them to the leagues leaders shield. However at the end of that season he returned, homesick, to London, joining London Skolars (a club he had frequented often on dual registration during his Bronco’s days). Here too he continued to contribute with his consistently high impact performances, although it wasn’t enough to help the club reach the desired play-off spots. Left somewhat disappointed by the clubs under performance in the 2014 season Bryan decided to experience a new culture signing for Racing Lescure in the French elite division 2, arriving a matter of days after the final Skolars game, Lamont was thrust into the French action and he has been playing there since last week, where his team unfortunately lost the divisions grand finale.

The club would like to reiterate they are delighted to welcome Lamont back and are hopeful he can bring some of his experience from being part of numerous professional and successful sides when the club take on newly crowned Ipro Sport Cup champions, North Wales Crusaders this Sunday.
