Community Raffle is Back

21st June 2012

England captain Jamie Peacock (pictured above) is urging all community clubs to take part in the latest Community Game Raffle.

The raffle – in its fifth year – has raised over £150,000 for community teams and the Rugby League Foundation charity and this year’s is set to be the best yet.

“The raffle is a great way for clubs to raise money for both themselves and a worthy cause like the Rugby League Foundation,” said Peacock, who has retained strong links with the community club where he started his career, Stanningley.

“It’s a great initiative which is growing in popularity year after year. I’m sure this year’s will be the most successful for everyone.”

Just like previous years, tickets will go on sale for £1, with the selling club or school receiving 70p from every ticket and the RL Foundation the remaining 30p.

A host of fantastic prizes are again on offer with a five-night trip to New York and £500 spending money topping the bill. As well as individual prizes selling clubs and schools will also be eligible to win prizes for being the biggest sellers.

Skolars have just taken delivery of a batch of Community Raffle ticket books so if you’d like to buy some tickets and support the club please call 020 8888 8488 and speak to the community team. Tickets will also be on sale at Skolars forthcoming home fixture against Barrow Raiders on the 1st July.
