London Rugby League

Urban Rugby

The purpose of Urban Rugby is to take the game out into the estates in the surrounding boroughs. It is a non contact derivative of the game that can be played on any surface and virtually any size pitch.

It is hoped that Urban Rugby will offer the chance for youngsters to get involved with sport who normally would not have the opportunity, initially the club will work in four estates and it is hoped that this can be expanded as the sport takes hold.

An integral part of the Urban Rugby plan is that each estate will produce an ‘Urban Rugby Leader’ in order to coordinate and rive the game forward in each estate, this will be linked to coaching qualifications and Young Leaders Awards.

The 2010 Programme will take place at the following times and dates:

Week 1 - 2nd Aug - 6th Aug 2010 - Priory Park - 10.00am - 12.00pm each day.
Week 2 - 9th Aug - 13th Aug 2010 - Lordship Recreation Ground  - 10.00am - 12.00pm each day.
Week 3 - 16th Aug - 20th Aug 2010 - White Hart Lane Community Sports Centre - 10.00am - 12.00pm each day.
Week 4 - 23rd Aug - 27th Aug 2010 - White Hart Lane Community Sports Centre - 10.00am - 12.00pm each day.
