London League Heritage Day

This year’s London League Heritage Day was held on Sunday the 3rd April, when Skolars hosted Whitehaven in a Co-operative Championship 1 fixture.

Visitors were treated to an exhibition of London Rugby League memorabilia including match programmes, posters and a number of shirts worn by Skolars and Quins RL (and Broncos) teams from the past.

On the pitch the main event was preceded by a Masters Festival featuring past players from Skolars and Medway (pictured above) and, although there were some aching limbs afterwards, a good time was had by all.

After the Skolars v Whitehaven match was finished Rugby Leage fans were treated to the Middlesex University Rugby League 9′s competition.

All in all a great day celebrating Rugby League in the Capital and certainly an event to look out for in 2012!
