On Friday the 17th of January 2020, London Skolars return to the HAC to face reigning Super League Champions Wigan Warriors for the 2020 Capital Challenge Trophy.
Now in its 16th year, the 2020 Capital Challenge will once again take place in the unique setting of the Honourable Artillery Company, which is based in the heart of the City of London. This game has become a permanent fixture on London’s sporting calendar and the traditional opening event of the rugby league year. Capital Challenge has grown hugely in popularity and is seen as a superb day out for all those interested in Rugby League and the spread of the games appeal.
The event is a fantastic opportunity to socialise, wine and dine at one of rugby league’s most prestigious events. It is an excellent opportunity to entertain clients or reward colleagues in the heart of the ‘Square Mile’. We commence the event with a luncheon before guests walk out to the artillery garden to watch the match. Our guest speaker this year is former Wigan Warriors, Ireland and Great Britain representative Barrie McDermott. Barrie is one of the key commentators for Sky Sport RL and also played for Oldham, Widnes Vikings and Leeds Rhinos with whom he won the Super League and Challenge Cup.
