NEIL TW

London Skolars have re-signed Neil Thorman ahead of the 2019 Betfred League 1 season. The 35-year-old could make his first appearance of the new campaign at next week’s curtain-raising Capital Challenge at the Honourable Artillery Company.

Jermaine Coleman, London Skolars Head Coach, commented:

“Neil is a very experienced player at this level and I’m very thankful that he’s signed for us again. With his skill and quality he brings a great deal of experience and knowledge. We’re really excited to have him on board and we think with the team that we’re assembling this year he’s really going to flourish.”

Thorman originally signed for Skolars in 2010 but left the club to pursue an opportunity to play in Australia. He rejoined in 2018 and is delighted to have signed on once again. He said:

“I’m very happy with where Jermaine and the club are heading. We have strengthened both on and off the field and am really happy to have signed again this year. I’m looking forward to our annual Capital Challenge and hoping a world class club like Wigan will interest more people to come and support their local team.”

LAMONT TW

London Skolars are delighted to announce that Lamont Bryan has re-signed for the club. Bryan will remain at New River Stadium for the entire 2019 season as a result of his new deal.

Jermaine Coleman, London Skolars Head Coach, commented:

“Lamont is a fantastic player and is a one off. He is capable of producing moments of brilliance that other cant. Lamont had a fantastic tournament for Jamaica and played some of his best rugby so I am really happy he has joined us again. I hope he can have a trouble-free season and keep focused on his rugby.”

A German-born, Jamaican international, Bryan originally joined Skolars in 2016 and has since made 33 appearances for the club, scoring 13 tries. He was also part of the Jamaica squad which qualified for the 2021 Rugby League World Cup for the very first time at the end of last year. Bryan finished the 2018 season as Skolars’ top try scorer. He said:

“I’m delighted to have re-signed with London Skolars for the 2019 season. I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far and can’t wait for the new campaign to start. The club has made some exciting signings and we’ve kept the core group together from last year, which is always a good sign. We all feel we can have a terrific season.”
