Michael Sykes has re-signed with London Skolars for the 2019 season. The prop, who celebrates his 32nd birthday today, will remain with the club throughout the new campaign as Skolars aim to make their mark on Betfred League 1.
Jermaine Coleman, London Skolars Head Coach, commented:
“Michael is an experienced player at this level now and over the last few years has really developed his physical capabilities and as a result is able to effect the games more. He is again looking to have a big offseason and strong season with new competition in the group that will bring the standard up.”
Sykes has been with Skolars for a number of years, signing for the club after enjoying a successful spell at university level during which he represented Great Britain students. Last season, Sykes made 20 appearances for the club and admits it was a simple decision to sign a new contract.
“I am very pleased to have signed another year at the club. I’ve been here for a long time and love the club and the boys so the decision to stay on was an easy one. This year is an exciting one for the club so I’m very happy to be part of it again.”
