Skolars 36-16 Ironmen

17th July 2017

Skolars hosted the South Wales Ironmen in their last home game of the regular season before the league split.

Skolars secured a third place finish for the League 1 Shield with a 36-16 win over the Ironmen who could only muster a 13 man squad. In their first game since last week’s take over by West Wales Raiders, the Welshmen showed some persistence and grit to keep the Skolars at bay for most of the game.

Captain Dave Williams led the charge almost completing a hat trick whilst the try of the game was arguably scored by Billy Driver. Josh Alison also scored a superb try collecting a short range up and under.

Tiredness in the second half showed as the Skolars turned on the style to take a convincing lead.

A try at the hooter for the Ironmen gave them a more respectful score line.
