This year’s Friday Night Lights is shaping up to be another great event at New River Stadium on Friday 26th August.  The annual event that takes place on the eve of the Challenge Cup Final, is always a great way for rugby league fans to kick off their Challenge Cup Final weekend celebrations in London.

The first team will play Toulouse Olympique XIII in a rematch, which is set to be a cracking game.  The last time the two teams met on July 9 at New River Stadium, Toulouse beat Skolars quite convincingly in the end despite Skolars matching it with Toulouse for most of the match.

There’s a great French Connection to this year’s event as two junior French representative teams will travel across to play London Skolars U17s and U15s in the lead up games.

The Political Animals XIII take on a London Masters team as the curtain raiser to the main game.  This game will be officially kicked off by Catherine West, Labour MP for Hornsey and Wood Green.

First game kicks off at 1.30pm, with the main game on at 7pm.

There’ll be a Real Ale Festival that will take place at the club all day on the Friday and BBQ Burgers and Sausage Sizzle.

London Skolars have recently opened their new bar, which will also be open for the event and worth checking out.

So why not come down the day before the Challenge Cup Final for a great afternoon of rugby league at New River Stadium on Friday Night before catching all the action at the Challenge Cup Final at Wembley on the Saturday 27th August.
